  • Media 2 Year 10

    Senior School / Year 10 (10AMED2)

    This course involves students examining the various elements that combine to create a specific film genre as well as examining media ethics and morality. Whether it is the hi-tech special effects of the latest action blockbuster or the hilarious antics within a classic comedy, students will be given the opportunity to analyse and identify the element that go into creating a specific film genre.

    As part of this course students will use a range of digital video equipment including cameras and editing equipment to create a video production that contains all the hallmarks of a genre of their choice.

  • Media Production and Analysis 1C & 1D

    Senior School / Year 12 (1CMPA1DMPA)

    The focus for unit 1C is entertainment.
    Within this broad focus, teachers select learning contexts interesting to students and build upon the informal understandings they have already acquired.

    The focus for unit 1D is infotainment, a term used to describe non-fiction media genre that appear to be real but are constructed in such a way that they attract and entertain audiences.

  • Year 10 Media 1

    Senior School / Year 10 (10AMED1)

    This course concentrates upon the construction of codes in the mass media specifically in film and television. Students will study the development of narrative, character stereotypes, their values and how they are manipulated in the media. As part of this course students will use digital video equipment such as cameras and editing systems to create an exciting film production incorporating stereotypes.

  • Year 9 Media

    Middle School / Year 9 (9AMED)

    The Year Nine Media course gives students a brief introduction to the Media and its influence on our culture. The thirteen week course includes both practical and theoretical elements including the codes and conventions of film and television. Students are given the opportunity to take part in both individual as well as group activities. Students work through the development process by planning, filming, acting, script writing as well as editing of their own media productions. Students are encouraged to think creatively and uniquely whilst developing Media products suitable for their audience.
